Juhina's Top 6 Series to Start and Finish in 2014

Last year I managed to finish around 14 series. Mind you, not all are ones I started in 2013, but still, I was able to complete all these series. This time, I am determined to start and finish five series that I never picked up because they weren't review books (I call my pre-2014 blogging years my dark years because all I did was review books, which are awesome, but still, I never read any of the books from my bookshelf and now.. I have over 200 that I haven't read). I'm actually so much better this year. I make it a point to read at least one or two books per month that aren't review books and I've been successful, partly because my requesting has dropped by at least half.

ANYWAYS, back to the point! Six series, all have been completed or are about to finish. Of course if I end up disliking the first book then it is fair game to drop the whole series but I doubt that would happen because I've chosen those after some careful deliberation. *inhale* here we go

  1. I need to work on finishing some series this year. I may steal this idea and post it on my blog so I feel like someone might hold me accountable. Lol. Full credit to you, of course.

I can't wait to see what you think of the Blood of Eden trilogy and the Program duology. I adored both of them. I really should finish the Partials trilogy this year since I enjoyed the first book. I hope you get through all of these series. =)

  2. Oh we have such similar series to finish. I have bought all the Blood Of Eden books but have yet to read them. I plan on reading them this summer, along with finishing the Partials Trilogy and starting the Slated series because I've heard great things about that series.

I also want to finish the Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie soon too.

Hope you reach all your series completing goals :)

  3. I loved Blood of Eden book 1. I started reading the sequel a month ago but stopped reading it for some reason. I loved Slated and have the other two books so maybe we could do a readalong lol I really want to read Partials and The Program!!! They sound so unique.
Another series that I want to finish this year is Vampire Academy, though probably I'll never finish it coz it has 6 books, and i've only read the first one.I want to finish Legend and The Chemical Garden trilogies!!!
    Good luck

    1. so many good ones!! You should definitely continue reading The Eternity Cure! I loved it. As for Slated, I'm doing a buddy read for the first one in July :D but if i manage to buy the second and third then we can totally buddy read later on. as for VA.. I know 6! I've only read the first two but the movie sort of put me in a VA reading slump. i need to forget that dude's face so I can get back into reading it :P Legend and Chemical Garden trilogy! those two I can say I've already finished them :D

  4. I'm also planning to finish a couple of series, I will post my update about it soon. Blood of Eden, Hex Hall & Partials are three series I've finished and I enjoyed all three of them. Blood of Eden is such a refreshing vampire tale. Partials (though I wasn't a huge fan of the middle book) has a great medical aspect and Hex Hall is so much fun with the lovely Sophie!

  5. Great list! I am really eager to finish the Blood of Eden trilogy. I can't wait to read Forever Song. I've been saving it for a weekend when I can sit and read the whole thing without a lot of interruptions!
I love the Hex Hall series and I haven't heard of Slated so I'll have to check it out.
If you haven't yet, you should read, RIGHT NOW, the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series! It's so fantastic. I waited years to start it and then in a couple of weeks devoured the series. It is AMAZING.
    Happy Reading!

  6. I have to start and finish all the series you mentioned except Hex Hall, those ones just aren't my type of reads. I hope you like the books when you get to them.

  8. I told myself that in 2014 I wanted to try to get up to date or finish many of the series on my shelves. So far I have pretty much failed at that but I recently took back a lot of my library books and pulled some series books off my shelves to put them in a TBR pile if you will. I hope to FINALLY make time to catch up or finish old series!

Good luck with these. I still need to read the last Hex Hall book as well as the last two Firelight books.

  9. Woah, so let me get this straight - you finished 14 series last year and this was apparently during your "dark years"?? Because that is wicked awesome!! Finishing 14 series is A LOT. I feel like I haven't even finished 14 series in my entire LIFE (probably untrue, but it feels that way...). So with all that in mind, it's super admirable that you plan to start and finish 6 entirely new series! I haven't read any of these, so I can't tell you what to expect, but I hope you enjoy them all!

  12. I agree with Aylee ^^ finishing 14 series in a year is flipping amazing! Way to go! Anyways for your series to get to this year, we share Blood of Eden, Hex Hall, Partials and The Program! Hopefully we'll both get to at least start these this year - you'll probably finish them all but I can't say the same for me XD Best of luck and I hope you love them all!!

  13. Loved the Partials trilogy so much! I think all the science jargon was presented in such a way that it was interesting to someone without a science background (like me, haha.) :D Slated is such a unique dystopian trilogy, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

  14. I think I've only completed one or two series so far this year, but I'm hoping to complete at least 3 more by the end of the year. The Hex Hall series is so much fun and a great trilogy! The Partials series also sounds interesting and I'm planning to take part in your readalong :)

  15. I read The Immortal Rules! Now I have to read The Eternity Cure and the Infinity Song (I think that's the title?). I've also got Hex Hall as well and I'm planning on picking that up shortly- I loved Rebel Belle and her writing so much, and I'd heard that it was a fantastic series, so I decided to pick that up too. I've never read the Partials series although I have read the first chapter or so, and my friend adores the Slated series, she says it's one of her favorites, so I might pick that up sometime as well.
A wonderful list, and best of luck reading them all!

  16. Ah if this is my list, Partials and the Blood Eden trilogy would definitely be listed too. I've yet to read the second book of Partials and the last installment of Blood Eden, but I definitely had good experience with both of these series so I should really get on with it. I've always wanted to read the Firelight trilogy too because dragons..need I say more?

Good luck with reading all of them. In case you decided to have a read-a-long, just let me know. I'd gladly clear up some of my to-read books as well. :)
