The spine-tingling horror of Stephen King meets an eerie mystery worthy of Sara Shepard's Pretty Little Liars series in Kate Karyus Quinn's haunting debut.

On a cool autumn night, Annaliese Rose Gordon stumbled out of the woods and into a high school party. She was screaming. Drenched in blood. Then she vanished.

A year later, Annaliese is found wandering down a road hundreds of miles away. She doesn't know who she is. She doesn't know how she got there. She only knows one thing: She is not the real Annaliese Rose Gordon.

Now Annaliese is haunted by strange visions and broken memories. Memories of a reckless, desperate wish . . . a bloody razor . . . and the faces of other girls who disappeared. Piece by piece, Annaliese's fractured memories come together to reveal a violent, endless cycle that she will never escape—unless she can unlock the twisted secrets of her past.
Another Little Piece could be described in one short phrase: A COMPLETE MIND MELT. Yup, this book was so freaking... CONFUSING.. CREEPY.. ADDICTING... MIND BLOWING... and HORRIFYING. Phew, now all these emotions are out of the way, I can think a little bit clearly. Before starting Another Little Piece, I read a couple of reviews on goodreads and while all say it was confusing, they enjoyed it at the end. I was a bit wary of the sudden change in POVs everyone mentioned as well as how crazy the plot is. However I am so happy that I ended up reading it because this book was worth every minute I spent on it.
The plot... I don't know if I can explain it without 1) spoiling it for everyone, 2) Not sounding like a crazy blabbering person. So, I will just say that a ton of crazy stuff happens.. like a ton. Some that disturbed me.. immensely, and others that aided in the mind melt. In all honesty I was so fhdks;fhsldkfh confused (yes, that is the only way I could SHOW you guys my confusion) in the beginning, not knowing what is going to happen. I have to admit I am not someone who can stomach any gory scenes so I was hoping the book wasn't like that. I am happy to say it mostly isn't, except for a few scenes that I am choosing to block out right now. I have to say I figured out the mystery early on, but not sure if that is the doing of the author or not. However you don't wait till the end for the mystery to be revealed, the author feeds it to us little by little, keeping the readers hooked. One scene towards the end actually made me have a Eureka! moment then an "EWW" moment, but it is all good right now.
I read in one of the reviews that this book doesn't really have romance but I have to disagree. If you are a reader who has to have a romance, but is happy even if it is insignificant compared to the main plot, in their books, then you won't be disappointed here. The romance, or at least the love interest, appears in a ton of scenes and I honestly loved him to bits. He was sweet, kind, and was seriously my safety net when it came to the craziness of this novel. It seems like the main protagonist, Anne, agreed with me! I just think this novel was brilliantly crafted, from the twisted plot down to all the main and supporting characters as well as the way she made them feel so real, which made this novel even creepier. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is because it made me highly uncomfortable at parts, but other than that, it was perfect. I definitely recommend it to all thriller fans.. or actually, all YA fans, because this novel wasn't something I would have ever read, so you YA-ers, give this book a chance, you won't regret it!

  2. Heh, love this review. And I think I would like this book, as well! I kind of don't really know what to think of it. But it sounds like you didn't at times either! Haha, is it weird that I am most interested in this book because you describe it as being confusing and disturbing at times?

  3. I've heard some good things about this one, so I'm so glad you loved this one, Juhina!! Even with the uncomfortable parts, this one seems like a melting pot of emotions, haha. ;) The plot also sounds fantastic! I love books where a ton of things happen, and a bit of gore is just fine by me. And the romance sounds great! I enjoy a good romance, but always like it when it's not the main aspect of a novel.

Great review, Juhina! I'm excited to pick this one up now! <3

  7. Yeah, I've heard this book is just...WHAAAA? I don't particularly like being confused in books, but this one sounds really interesting. I'm not much of a thriller reader either, so I'm glad to see it would be good for those of us inexperienced in the genre. And of course, a little bit of romance helps! This seems like a book I'll have to try out. Thanks for the fabulous review! :)

  8. Eeeep! I want this now!! Haha! Gory and creepy and thrilling is absolutely okay with me (I don't what that says about me) but it's been a long time since I last read some pretty mind melting books. And this one really intrigues me plus your mention of the romance and the main love interest had me even more excited. Haha! Thanks for the brilliant review, Juhina. Definitely going to read this soon. :)
