Waiting on Wednesday (39) - 45 Pounds

45 Pounds (More or Less) by K.A. Barson
Publication Date: July 11th, 2013
Publisher: Viking Juvenile
Find on: Goodreads
Here are the numbers of Ann Galardi’s life:

She is 16.
And a size 17.
Her perfect mother is a size 6.
Her Aunt Jackie is getting married in 10 weeks, and wants Ann to be her bridesmaid.
So Ann makes up her mind: Time to lose 45 pounds (more or less) in 2 1/2 months.

Welcome to the world of informercial diet plans, wedding dance lessons, embarrassing run-ins with the cutest guy Ann’s ever seen—-and some surprises about her NOT-so-perfect mother.

And there’s one more thing. It’s all about feeling comfortable in your own skin-—no matter how you add it up!
45 Pounds (More or Less) sounds SO different that your typical young adult novel!! One of the things I absolutely love is the cover of the book, and the synopsis sounds hilarious! I'm definitely in need of a chill, funny contemporary novel! What do you guys think? - Farah

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcases upcoming releases that we are excited about.

  9. I've been dying to read this. I just requested it on NetGalley, but I'll probably get denied. I get denied for the ones I want the most. Bummer.

  12. Farah I adore your pick for this week. It reminds me so much of Meg Cabot's Heather Wells series, which I hugely recommend picking up, if you haven't already done so. This sounds like such a fun read! I think I will definitely be giving this book a try! :)
