BETWIXT Blog Tour: Guest Post with Melissa Pearl!

Welcome to my stop at the BETWIXT blog tour! Today I have a guest post by the author herself discussing where does she usually like to write. Also, if you haven't read BETWIXT you have to because it was a fantastic paranormal novel! Check out my review here

Melissa Pearl was born in Auckland, New Zealand, but has spent much of her life abroad, living in countries such as Jordan, Cyprus and Pakistan... not to mention a nine month road trip around North America with her husband. "Best. Year. Ever!!" She now lives in China with her husband and two sons. She is a trained elementary teacher, but writing is her passion. Since becoming a full time mother she has had the opportunity to pursue this dream and her debut novel hit the internet in November, 2011. Since then she has produced three more books with her fifth novel, Betwixt, due out in November 2012.

The Writer’s Cave: Where does Melissa Pearl like to write?

We have just moved to China and are now living in an apartment. I've never experienced this before and it is very different to a house, that's for sure. Size wise, it's not too bad, BUT my desk is now in the living area. Thankfully the bulk of my writing time is done while my baby sleeps and my five-year-old is at school, so the area is quiet. I have always needed to work with silence.

My desk faces the wall, but I have decorated it with poems, verses and quotes I find inspiring. On the other side are pictures of actors who look like the characters of my current WIP. I've never done this before and I am finding it really helpful. I love being able to look at them while I'm writing a scene and picture them moving a certain way or looking at the curve of their face, the shape of their smile or the colour of their eyes.
To my left is a window, which lets beautiful natural light in. We are on the seventh floor too, so it's quite cool being able to see a view. I look out over a local middle school, apartment buildings and a random patch of field. You can see in the photo :)

I am the sort of person who can practically write anywhere, as long as it's not too noisy. I must say, I do love my spot in the living room though :)

Below is a chance for you to win one of the ebooks of this fantastic novel. It is international so go right ahead and enter!
