I've always been a huge fan of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Even though I'm 16, I still get excited when a new book comes out. I'm such a huge fan of the first three books, but lately, the last couple of ones, I just felt like they lack the humor, you know? It's like Jeff Kinney is out of jokes to write. The most thing I cracked was a mere smile in this book, and I remember, while reading the first ones, I would literally laugh out loud every five seconds. It sucks that they aren't as awesome anymore. I should probably understand that I'm not going to enjoy these books anymore, but somehow I always end up buying the latest one that comes out, just praying that it might be a funny one. Compared to the one before, I really think this one was still better, so yay for that.

Title: Where She Went (If I Stay #2)
Author: Gayle Forman

I don't know why it took me so long to read Where She Went, especially since I truly enjoyed If I Stay. I loved the fact that in this book, it was from Adam's point of view. Adam and Mia being apart, it mostly revolves around the life of Adam as a famous rockstar, while missing Mia. I really loved the characters in the book, and the writing was absolutely flawless. Also, despite reading If I Stay a year ago, I seemed to remember everything when I read this book. It was interesting to see how Mia and Adam crossed paths, and how they were going to act towards each other in certain circumstances. This is a really beautiful series, and this is the last book. The ending was awesome, and I really loved every bit of this! Can't wait for future books by Gayle Forman!

  1. Loved Where She Went! I read it literally the second I finished If I Stay. Adam made me cry so much. His love for Mia broke my heart but at least there was a great ending!

  3. I usually pass over books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I guess it's not my type of book but I do understand why some people are fond of it. As for Where She Went, I absolutely loved it! It was the most honest, male narration I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I actually thought it was better than If I Stay :D

    Great mini-posts!

  4. Ahh, that sucks when that happens - a series you love starts to lack what you loved about it in the first place. :( I haven't read the series, but I have seen the movie and it was pretty funny.

    Great reviews!

  9. I am very excited to read the If I Stay books. I have heard great things about them, and after your review, I am definitely bumping it up on my TBR. Glad you liked it, Farah! And Diary of a Wimpy Kid was never really my kind of book, but I have heard fun stuff about it nonetheless, (and I saw the movie which I enjoyed ;p), so it's too bad it lacked the very thing you looked forward too (don't you hate that!?).

    Fantastic reviews, Farah! :D

  13. I really liked WHERE SHE WENT, too. And the Wimpy Kids books are so popular, but I haven't tried them yet! I'm sorry it was a let down. Sometimes that's bound to happen with a series that keeps going on. (and on...)

  15. I really loved Where She Went, and I thought it was so much better than If I Stay. I also can't wait for more books by Gayle Forman, because this series was amazing! And I really enjoy Diary of a Wimpy Kid as well (even though my 10 year old brother owns and reads them haha). I've only read the first two books, but too bad this one didn't do it for you! I'm now a little hesitant to continue the series...

EEEEE -point point point!- It's Diary of a Wimpy Kid!! -reminisces childhood memories- I've only read the ones from back when I was little, too bad they aren't as good as they were anymore :( I haven't yet read the Gayle Forman series but it's great that you enjoyed the second book! It's always great to have a nice, feel-good ending ^_^ Lovely mini reviews, Farah!
