I was excited to start reading Incarnate, because the cover just wowed me. Most of the people who read it enjoyed it, but yet again, I just don't think it was for me.
The beginning sounded so much like "The Host" which I just loved! So I was sure I would love this one as well. In here, the same souls are reincarnated over and over again, just in different bodies. Then, one of the souls disappears, and gets replaced by Ana.
I didn't really like Ana's character, because I felt like she was weak. Just because people around you think you shouldn't have been born, doesn't mean you should believe that. Ana was weak, and I felt like she always felt "burdened" that she somehow replaced this other soul. She should have been stronger and fought towards her right as a human.
I felt things were kind of slow in the story. I think many parts should have been erased, because they weren't important what so ever. Her relationship with Sam was fine. I didn't think it was rushed, so that was good.
Even though I thought it was kind of boring and slow, the end was really enjoyable. I think it was the best part of the whole story. Jodi's writing is really good as well. Therefore, I might give the second book a chance.

ReplyDeleteI really liked this book, but I can see why you didn't like it so much. I agree with you on Anna, I didn't like her till the end, but then I really liked her.
