Wren Caswell is average. Ranked in the middle of her class at Sacred Heart, she’s not popular, but not a social misfit. Wren is the quiet, “good” girl who's always done what she's supposed to—only now in her junior year, this passive strategy is backfiring. She wants to change, but doesn’t know how.

Grayson Barrett was the king of St. Gabe’s. Star of the lacrosse team, top of his class, on a fast track to a brilliant future—until he was expelled for being a “term paper pimp.” Now Gray is in a downward spiral and needs to change, but doesn’t know how.

One fateful night their paths cross when Wren, working at her family’s Arthurian-themed catering hall, performs the Heimlich on Gray as he chokes on a cocktail weenie, saving his life literally and figuratively. What follows is the complicated, awkward, hilarious, and tender tale of two teens shedding their pasts, figuring out who they are—and falling in love.
Wren Caswell was not an unfortunate girl. She's not popular, but she isn't an outcast. She is a quiet, good girl who always does the right thing and never causes trouble. But now her plan to be quiet and good has gotten boring, and she wants to live life with rules on her own. Grayson Barret is popular and handsome and everyone liked him at St. Gabe's. Except he doesn't go there anymore. After being expelled for being a ''term paper pimp", Gray has to quit the lacrosse team, and move to a different school. During a dinner party at Wren's family's catering hall, Grey and Wren's paths collide (in a very unfashionable way, might I add) and result is this adorably cute tale of these two teens.
This book is so cute. As long as you don't mind instalove, which is basically love at first sight. Good thing I didn't mind that, because I loved this book! Wren was such a good character, and Grayson was so well developed. I could relate to Wren a bit, because she isn't popular, but she isn't exactly a social outcast, kinda like me. Nothing bothered me in this book, other than Luke and his idiot-ness. I mean like, if a person says no to something, just drop the topic!
The writing style was good to me, but I seem like the only person who likes alternating point of view, so if that bothers you, then this book is not for you. The flow was great, and the story was cute and humorous. I think I would love to read more books by this author. Totally recommended to teens who love a good romance novel.

  1. I'm not a fan of insta-love but this book sounds way too cute to pass up! :D
It's a good thing I like alternating POVs too, I guess. Great review, Danna! :)

  2. Too bad it has insta-love in it. I might would have read and love this book. But it seems like a good, cute and romantic story..hmm. Should I give it a try?

    1. so Danna is 12 years old and she really enjoyed it. I am 22 years old and had to DNF it because of how cheesy and cliche it is.. i honestly think it depends on your age and how receptive you are to cliches. - Juhina

  3. Aw, yay! I'm glad you enjoyed this book. I'm going to read it pretty soon too. You make it sound good. <3 I don't think I would mind insta-love. Glad you loved the writing :) Thank you for sharing your awesome review. <3

  4. Ahh, with cases like this I either LOVE it or HATE it, so I guess I need to read the book to find out on which side I will be. I'm happy that you didn't mind it! :D

  5. Love the the warning about insta-love! Wren and Grayson sound like a good couple. I think I would like this. Great review...

  6. I myself have a have alove/hate thing with instalove but I can't wait for this book! It sounds really good. So happy you liked it!
    Great review!

  7. I am literally dying to read this book and unlike most readers out there, I do enjoy insta-love so this one sounds perfect. Actually, it sounded perfect to me since the time I first saw it. So happy to see you liked the story. Amazing review, Danna!

  8. Great review! I'm usually not a fan of instalove, but sometimes it works. If you think it's cute, I'm sure I'll think it's cute. :)

  9. I received this one for review, so I'm going to have to get to it soon. I'm dreading reading about the instalove, though. I've been kind of putting it off for that reason. And if Luke is going to be pushy then I'm certainly not going to like him. Oh well, I shall try :D
