Earth, Fire, Air, Water – they have more power than you dream.

Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her, Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys—all the ones she doesn't want. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water—just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who’s hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming . . .
Storm by Brigid Kemmerer really shocked me. A story about four gorgeous brothers, who have elemental powers. Each of the Merrick brothers have one element. Earth, Fire, Air, or Water. Becca, the main protagonist in this story, never had anything to do with those brothers who go to school with her. One day, that all changes when she sees Chris, the youngest Merrick brother, getting beat up by some other boys. I really loved how the author introduced the characters to eachother. I really found it a refreshing idea, and not the typical "new student". Though, there is a new student, and that new student is a very hot guy named Hunter. Now that's where things start to stir up. As you might already know, there is a really tense love triangle between Chris, Brigid, and Hunter.
Now Chris has other three brothers who are Elementals as well. Nick and Gabriel are twins, and Michael is the oldest brother who takes care of them. I really did like how every brother had a distinctive personality, but to be honest, I kind of got confused with their names while reading. As well to the names, I did feel that some parts of the story weren't explained properly. I didn't understand why the Guides wanted the Elementals, or what they had to do with Becca. Even though I didn't understand some parts, I do have to say that I did understand the story as a whole, and enjoyed it as well. In addition to that, the ending was a very non expected ending. To me, keeping the readers guessing and not finding out who are the bad guys and so, is really what makes a book a good one.
Overall, Storm was a really fun read. Though at first it might have been a bit slow paced, good thing it wasn't like that through out the whole book. I really enjoyed the fantasy, the romance, and the characters, and I really cannot wait to read the sequel and find out more about Becca and the Merrick brothers. I do recommend it to all paranormal/fantasy readers, because this book will not disappoint.

  1. I'm guessing the rest of the series will cover different brothers?
It sounds like a great read (four gorgeous brothers, what'd we expect?)

  2. This sort of sounds like The Mephisto Covenant and I'm almost wondering if you would enjoy that book. I'm very intrigued by this story now that I have read some great reviews on it.

I think I would really like this because I tend to like stories where there are plenty of hot guys to go around :)

    Thanks for the great review!
